Representative Geraldine Roman has announced a scholarship program for residents of the first district of Bataan who want to pursue technical and vocational courses.
The program, called Iskolar ng Unang Distrito ng Bataan, aims to provide skills training and certification to high school graduates, college graduates, and out-of-school youth who are at least 18 years old and not employed.
The scholarship program offers four courses: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I, Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, and Bread and Pastry Production NC II. The training schedule will be on Mondays to Saturdays, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Congresswoman Roman said that interested applicants must submit the following requirements on the day of the orientation:
High School Graduate
Form 138 (High School Card) or Form 137 A (if high school graduate or ALS certf)
TOR (Transcript of Record) if College Graduate
At least 18 years old and above
Copy of Birth Certificate Marriage Certificate (if married)
Brgy. Clearance or Brgy. Certificate
1×1 (4 pcs) picture (white background with collar)
Passport size picture (3 pcs) (white background with collar)

Rep. Roman added that the program is part of her commitment to empower the people of Bataan and provide them with opportunities for a better future. She also thanked the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for partnering with her office in implementing the program. “I hope that through this program, we can help our fellow Bataeños develop their skills and talents, and prepare them for the challenges and opportunities in the labor market. This is our way of showing our love and support for our district,” she said in her official Facebook page post.
